now recording is a meeting recorder that runs entirely in a browser tab, for people who cannot let a recording leave their machine.

Speech recognition happens on your own device: a Whisper model is served from our origin, loads into a Web Worker and runs on the CPU through WebAssembly. The audio is never uploaded. Nothing joins the call either — it captures the tab or your system audio, so no bot appears in the attendee list and nobody has to approve one. Recording needs no account at all.

It transcribes in 29 languages (the language is a setting you pick, not detected from the audio), imports existing audio or video files up to 500 MB or 3 hours, labels speakers, writes summaries with decisions and action items, and exports notes, transcript, subtitles, JSON or the audio file.

Worth being exact about what does leave, since that is the point of the product. The audio never does. Text can: the optional AI summary sends the transcript to a language model, and if you sign in, transcript and summary text sync to your account so they are there on another machine. Signed out, nothing syncs at all. That boundary is published at nowrecording.com/trust.

Limits: desktop Chrome or Edge only, no mobile app, no CRM or Notion integrations, and it cannot attend a meeting for you. Free right now, with nothing for sale.
